Notice how the last post was in 2006? Two years ago? Something happened and two years of blogging dissappeared. I think I made a back-up once, and so that is what you now see below. I suppose I can see this as ok, because I had slowly dropped to very intermittent posting, but was blogging almost daily for about a year there. But I really should redo the links - to Dylan’s stories and such.

The update on Dylan Hicks. He’s writing a novel, and having a very good time doing it. He’s a had a few stories published from the period last year when he was working on short stories. He’s not performing music anymore, but you can still find the 3 early CD’s used on the interwebs. He doesn’t have a Facebook, Myspace, or other page. He also doesn’t have a cell phone or watch TV. But he does work on a computer, drive a car, eat meat, etc.

My (Nina’s) current favorite bands are The Heavy, and Jose Gonzalez, and I freakin’ love the song “Kids” by the group MGMT.

We ended up driving about 80 mph to and from Chicago. But it went pretty slow due to child carsick vomit all over Dylan neccessitating a stylish truck stop t-shirt. He picked up that genetic gift from me - I get carsick when someone sits on the sofa next to me.
We had a queen bed for years but then upgraded to a king when our kid co-slept with us (after many howls from Dylan after well-positioned kicks). But I hate the fact that we can’t even reach each other when we’re reading in bed. So we got a sinfully expensive queen bed - at the store we lay down on it and started laughing because it was so comfortable. The bonus is that our tiny hot converted-attic bedroom now has a bed more proportioned for the room.
