oh yeah
So in sitting around waiting for my new Ducati 695 to arrive, I’ve been looking at clothes. The ducati women’s clothes are criminally tight, and also made with 10% elastic mix - which is very high stretch factor. I think Dylan would be happy as a Duke Boy if I bought the little shorts to wear around the pool at the cabin (which is NOT to be confused with me being able to pull off that look), but this leather outfit is what I like.
Providence House
I have a recurring dream where I move back to Providence and need to find a place to live. I move into my old apartment, it’s falling apart, but there are also fantastic huge spaces I never knew about.
I lived in a tiny studio my junior year of college on the lower left side and the next year in a nice 2-room apartment flanking that porch on the 2nd floor right (which the singer Lisa Loeb moved into after I left). I had the requisite old chair on the roof and would hang out up there. But the whole thing is abandoned now, with peeling paint, boarded doors and in the left walkway, the ceiling is fallen in allowing pidgeon roosts and inches of guano.
Take some time off, will’ya?

Look at these guys! We should just rename that rock at the cabin the “photo zone” so many pictures get taken there. Hope y’all have a good memorial day. The blog will be quiet for a few days, I’m off to Rhode Island for the Brown University Commencement and the boys will be parked at ice cream parlors and pizza joints through out the city.
Speaking of which - who else is totally bummed about the redesign of The Leaning Tower? We were going there about 2ce a week for the past few years (well until this winter when we started wondering why we had both gained about 5 lbs) but it’s way too loud and lousy with TV’s now. We’re against it.
Food is not my Friend
Against all the tides, I am not a foodie. I have had a long-time fight with it my entire life and at age 30 I started to win, although it’s still a constant teeter. My life (and thus Dylan’s) is profoundly better when I can forget about food and survive on aspartame-laden protein drinks. Anyways, my friend of 20+ years Samantha Gillison, novelist, multi-linguist, fashionista, and foodie extraordinaire has a wonderful blog on food and life. She is featuring my FAVORITE kind of food right now, simple cheese and veggie sandwiches.
The paper is up to block the camera

Now all we have to worry about are the huge windows facing Lake Street.
surveillance cameras
Our office building just installed a host of new surveillance cameras in the hallway, which is good because there have been theft problems. However, I realized that one of them now will include shots of me at my desk, since we have these cool detective movie windows at the top of the high walls. Now, industrial espionage paranoia aside, this has Dylan especially concerned because he likes the fact that there are no HR personnel in our office-of-two watching over sexual harassment policies. Guess I’ll have to put some paper up on the offending pane of glass. *ahem*
Dylan in the Star Tribune
We were up at the cabin this weekend and didn’t see the paper. So my sister called and said “oh it was so fun to see Dylan’s piece on the front of the Star Tribune’s Source section.” huh? He wrote that awhile ago and thought they were going to kill it. Hm, now I think that maybe he told me this week and I was too busy blogging about him to pay attention. Cool!
I Love Stephanie!

Not only because she’s an awesome Hula Hooper, among her many accomplishments, but she’s also taking ME as her guest to the preview of X Men 3 this week! How cool is that?! But you won’t hear a peep from me about it, since that’s her job (well, a small part of her super-cool job). This is also a good time to once again thank Rob for taking me as his guest to the ultra-premier premiere of Star Wars 3 last year . Good luck comes in threes I guess. People are nice!
Sartorial Smackdown
Dylan and Brad Zellar (from the Rake mag) at the Library Gala Opening last night - taken on my little cell phone camera. Our favorite part was the cool 3D earth map for the new Planetarium and Space Discovery Center, although we’ll have to wait 3 years for it.
Kid and Cat
This was taken in 2001. Man did I ever love that cat. he lived for about 18 years and was my first and last pet. (Dylan developed mid-life allergies and we weren’t able to replace the cats when they started dying out.
